A Plea from TTE: Garden Share Organizers needed!

“Garden share” is a beautifully simple idea – people with large gardens who don’t have time or energy to work them pair up with people who have less garden but do have the enthusiasm for gardening. In these days of very long allotment waiting lists, it looks like a very good idea. We already have letters of support and potential opportunities of land on which to grow fruit and veg from a couple of local authorities, we have people interested. All we need is one or two volunteers with plenty of energy to start to sort out the details before we can start matching people to gardens. It’s been done before: for example http://totnes.transitionnetwork.org/gardenshare/home and there are even national schemes such as http://www.homegrownuk.org/ but a locally organized one is likely to work much better. There are various sources of funding that may well be able to employ someone to operate such a scheme, but we first need someone with the time to sort out the details! If you think you might be able help, contact Pete on 224605 for a chat.
